It was even challenging to disable the add-on again b/c the whole thing just freezes, windows/tabs/menus become unresponsive, and every time i hit Stop Script another error pops up and causes the same pattern. Every time i hit Stop Script (or Continue) on the pop-up options, it hangs for a long while, then eventually stops, then another tab comes to the foreground immediately and produces the same script error. Literally, as soon as i hit the Enable button in Add-Ons Manager the browser is hijacked by these endless script warning pop-ups that appear page after page, & the whole browser freezes up. I also tried running Adguard without other add-ons and it still happened. If i disable just Adguard then there is no problem and FF runs fast & smooth. Older versions are having the exact same issue with Adguard. I upgraded to the latest FF 44.0.2 but this didn't help. The pop-up window shows a script path but doesn't not allow me to copy the text - it ends with /lib/jquery-1.8.3.min.js:2

It causes the browser to freeze and the whole Mac becomes unusable as it hogs up all the RAM (and i have 12 GB!). (Also, I think accessing Gmail makes this problem even worse for some reason.

Constant unresponsive script messages & very slow computer Closed - posted in Virus, Spyware, Malware Removal: I am getting unresponsive script errors in both IE and Firefox (typical message is is not responding due to a long running script), and my computer runs slowly. Then double-click on the number that appears. You do the filtering in step 2 by typing dom.m in the Filter bar that appears at the top of the page. The unresponsive script window is persistent now. Shut down Firefox and computer restarted didn't change. I turned off Firefox and restarted, but it didn't change. Every time I clicked on something in Thunderbird and sometimes with Firefox. Change the value to something higher than the default (which is 5.) I set mine to 20. The unresponsive script window started coming back all the time. Filter down to the value for dom.maxscriptruntime. The Trade Off is obvious, a bad memory for the willingness to provide Symantec 100% Permission to manage my devices. Type about:config in Firefox’s address bar. Caveat: When experimenting by downloading the entire, memory hog, NS Program, enabling *every* feature of NS on "Other Devices", PWM functioned, albeit slowly & sporadically. It has re-abled itself, w/out Notice and there is no equivalent word translatable between America (English) and India for "Refund"- not in Chat or in Call Centers.

So, NPM does not funciton on Android products: Amz Fire10 Tablet (ok, nothing works w/Silk), LG-G6 SmartPhone, regardless how many times it's been downloaded, Symantec does not care that I've been overcharged annually for NS & it's promise of "Up to 5 Devices", nor do they want to believe (care) that Auto-Renewal "Is Disabled every year!".
Painfully learned lessons: Never rely on Norton Cloud nor their separately,annually c$arged NOLBU Program. The program will not allow it to be printed nor saved (in the event of a crash why not?). The same Unresponsive Script message is popping up. However, I have never been successful: Saving or printing NPW addresses/passwords anywhere.

They upgrade it regularly, work out the glitches later but it still manages to function- on the *desktop* where original NS File lives.
